Dr. John Roberts Veterinarian

Dr. Roberts

Dr. John Roberts grew up outside Lewisville, Texas on 5 acres of land with dogs, cats, goats, geese and horses. He became interested in veterinary medicine as a child watching and helping the local veterinarian who tended to his family's animals. He worked in the kennel at Highland Animal Hospital through high school, and rode horses and swam competitively in his spare time. Dr. Roberts graduated from Texas A&M University in 1990 and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 with a year-long clinical rotation at University of Missouri teaching hospital.

He developed his excellent surgery skills through a variety of unique and practical surgery opportunities in 23 years of private small-animal practice and his 20-year career in the United States Army Reserve.

Today, Dr. Roberts is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He has served two tours of duty in Iraq as an Army Veterinarian.

Dr. Roberts lives in the clinic neighborhood with his family including his dogs Charlie and Burfi (poor Burfi - he came with that unfortunate name). For fun, Dr. Roberts plays rugby, runs and cycles.

Having worked at Midway Road Animal Clinic with Dr. Williams and the staff for six years, Dr. Roberts purchased the clinic from Dr. Williams in January 2019. Dr. Roberts is committed to continuing the legacy of outstanding care for your pets begun by Dr. Williams forty years ago.
